Daily Services of the Armenian Church / ​Ժամերգութիւն

As in all ancient Christian traditions, the Armenian Church has a cycle of daily services offered throughout the hours of each day. This cycle of daily services is known as Ժամերգութիւն / Zhamerkootyoon, which is most accurately translated as "Songs of the Hours" or "Singing the Hours." The cycle comprises the following services:

The Night Hour (Գիշերային ժամ / Keesherayeen Zham)

The Morning Hour (Առաւօտեան ժամ / Aravodyan Zham)

The Sunrise Hour (Արեւագալ / Arevakal)

The Midday Hours (Ճաշու ժամ / Jashoo Zham)

The Evening Hour (Երեկոյեան ժամ / Yeregoyan Zham)

The Peace Hour (Խաղաղական ժամ / Khaghaghagan Zham)

The Rest Hour (Հանգստեան ժամ / Hanksdyan Zham​)
