Deacon Gevork Gevorkian was born on December 27, 1957, in Yerevan, Armenia.
1965-1975: He studied and graduated at local secondary school No. 122.
1975-1980: He studied and graduated from the Faculty of Radio-Electronics of the National Polytechnic University of Armenia.
1980-1984: He worked as an engineer at the Scientific Research Institute of Mathematical Machines in Yerevan.
1984-1987: He was a musical group leader at the National Center of Aesthetics. At the same time, he worked at Lusashkh House, Cultural-Enlightenment-Education Center.
1987-1990: He worked in the State Philharmonic of Armenia as a double bass player in the trio of the famous pianist and composer David Azarian. He participated in various international festivals and recorded several CDs.
1992: He moved from Yerevan to the USA and settled in Rhode Island.
1992-2005: He worked for various companies.
2005: On January 25, Archbishop Khajak Barsamian ordained him a deacon.
2007: By order of Archbishop Khajak Parsamean, Dn. Gevork went to St. Nerses Seminary to pass the priestly qualification exams. During one week, he successfully passed all the final exams of the four-year educational programs of the Seminary. Then he continued his spiritual studies at the Hellenic College of Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Theology in the state of Massachusetts, where he completed courses in theology and pathology.
2005-2019: He worked as a Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer for various companies in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
1992-2019: Dn. Gevork, over these years, served in parallel in St. Sahag and St. Mesrop Armenian Apostolic Church, Providence, RI.
2019: Dn. Gevork moved to Glendale, California, with his wife, Rouzan Georkian, and his three children, David, Hasmik, and Lilit.
2010-2021: Mother See of St. Etchmiadzin printing house publishes many theological books authored by Dn. Gevork. All published books are archived in the Matenadaran named after Mesrop Mashtots of Yerevan, the "Vache and Tamar Manukian" Matenadaran of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, the "Matenadaran-Gandzasar" scientific and cultural center of Artsakh, the National Library of Armenia and other libraries of Yerevan.
2020-2021: Dn. Gevork worked at the Western Diocese of America, assisting the Primate of the Western Diocese.
2022: His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian appointed Dn. Gevork as a Deacon-in-Charge of St. Garabed Armenian Church of the Desert (Rancho Mirage, CA).
Currently, Deacon Gevork serves the St. Garabed Church on a full-time basis.
