The Parish Council is the executive and administrative body of the community. The Parish Council is the governing body elected by parish members to guide the parish in its spiritual, educational, and financial endeavors, in cooperation with the pastor. Parish Council members form a team dedicated to the mission of maintaining the church as a source and center of Christian teachings and life. They strive to make the church a place where all Armenian Christians congregate to participate in worship, learning, fellowship, and service and receive spiritual solace, strength, joy, hope, and forgiveness.
While the pastor is charged with the ultimate responsibility of meeting the spiritual and Armenian educational needs of the church community, the Parish Council may assist him in several of his duties as chief administrator. The Parish Council shares the responsibilities related to the welfare of the church. The Parish Council is bound by the canons of the church and is under the administrative jurisdiction of the diocesan authorities. Members of the Parish Council are elected by an Annual General Assembly of subscribing parish members by the By-Laws of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church.
